We all need to grow to be able to progress in anything we do.
Growth is the key component to keep interest (especially) in our training.  We also need goals so that we have a direction and a purpose.  Without a goal we would be moving aimlessly in all sorts of directions but not really growing in a measured productive way.
I started my journey in Jiu-Jitsu 23 years ago; my Martial Arts journey began 33 years ago.  My goal was to be a Brown Belt before I would share and start teaching what I had learned from Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
The privilege to proudly serve the Barrie Community for 20 years, the growth of Lewis’ Karate School and our Gracie Jiu-Jitsu program has lead us to some er, issues.  Good issues! – We are needing more floor space, more flexible time schedule and of course more class times.  Fifteen years later, primarily by word of mouth and referrals, we are necessitating the renovation of our After School Program area into a second dojo.
We had a tough decision to make, close down one program for the growth of our Karate and Jiu-Jitsu programs.  The second dojo will alleviate having two programs run at the same time on shared floor space.  We have over 2000 sq. ft. on the main dojo with the second floor accommodating more class times, managing over crowded floor space and provide a better, more flexible training environment.  For our students, the second dojo will be integrated into the fall schedule.
Looking forward to the improvements of our school and growth of all students,
Professor Trevor Lewis
